Siberian Iris Gardens

 

Iris sibirica, the Siberian Iris is a species of flowering plant in the family Iridaceae, native to northeast Turkey, Russia, eastern and central Europe. Growing 50-120 cm (20-47 in) tall, it is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial. The leaves are glaucous green, narrow and fairly rigid, blade-shaped, 40-80 cm (16-31 in) long and 2-4 cm broad. The flowers are typical of an iris, borne in late spring or early summer on unbranched or sparsely branched stems held above the leaves.
